The sequel to the Mortal Kombat film adaptation has received a release date

The premiere of the sequel will have to wait.

Warner Bros. will release the fighting game adaptation into cinemas on October 24, 2025. The company is probably counting on good revenues due to the Halloween holiday, which traditionally takes place a week later, on October 31.

The premiere of the first part took place in April 2021. Spectators and critics received the film lukewarmly. With a budget of $55 million, the film grossed $84 million, which the studio considered a good result, since the action film was also released simultaneously on the HBO Max service, where it performed well. Therefore, the sequel went into production. The sequel will feature the famous franchise hero Johnny Cage, who was only briefly mentioned at the very end in the first part. He will be played by Karl Urban, star of The Boys.
