Rumors: Telegram will slow down file download speeds

The restriction may affect users who do not have a Premium subscription.

Data miners reviewed fragments of the messenger’s source code and found confirmation of a possible innovation that would affect download speed. A screenshot with a fragment was posted on the Swiftgram TG channel.

If all this is true, then if you exceed a certain data limit, your download speed will decrease significantly. But this will not affect premium account holders.

It is not yet known what the data limit will be, above which the download speed will begin to drop. According to unconfirmed information, the speed will be limited to 10 Mbit/s for 1 hour and will be removed until the next time the limit is exceeded. Telegram developers have not yet given official comments on this matter.
