Apple May Release Foldable iPad With Giant Screen Ahead of Schedule

Analyst Jeff Pu has revealed new details about the development of an 18.8-inch Apple tablet with a flexible screen. According to him, the device will be something between an iPad and a MacBook, and its release will take place earlier than expected.

Previously, sources reported that the foldable gadget will appear no earlier than 2028, but now it is claimed that production will start at the end of 2026, and the full release will take place in 2027. There is also a possibility that the device will be closer to the MacBook and will receive pre-installed macOS, not iPadOS.

Apple has not yet officially confirmed this information. However, Mark Gurman from Bloomberg previously noted that updated versions of iOS 19 and macOS 16 will receive changes adapted for foldable screens and touch computers. This may indicate that the company is already actively working on its first foldable device.
