Xiaomi May Be Preparing an Interesting Smartphone with a Screen in the Camera Block

According to the insider Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi may introduce a very innovative flagship with an unusual design – with a screen built directly into the main camera module. The device, presumably the Xiaomi 16 Pro Max, will receive a top-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 (SM8850) processor and an advanced periscope camera.

This is not Xiaomi’s first experiment with additional displays – in 2021, the Mi 11 Ultra was already equipped with a 1.1-inch screen on the back panel. However, the new concept involves a more organic integration of the display into the camera module, which may open up unique opportunities for shooting and interacting with the device. The announcement of the smartphone is expected to take place as part of the presentation of the Xiaomi 16 line, although the exact release dates and design details remain unknown.
