Windows 11 will introduce automatic updates for all installed programs

Microsoft is developing a revolutionary centralized update system for Windows 11, which will automatically download and install updates for all third-party programs through the built-in “Update Center”. The new Windows Update orchestration platform is already available to developers for testing and will eventually relieve users of the need to manually update each program.

The system will intelligently manage the update process, taking into account user activity, time of day, and battery level on mobile devices. As Microsoft manager Angie Chen explains, the platform creates a single ecosystem for all types of updates – from applications to drivers.

Applications will have access to the “Update Center” notification system, and information about installed patches will be displayed in a single log along with Windows security updates. Although the exact timing of the release of the function in stable OS builds has not yet been announced, this innovation will radically change the approach to software support in the Microsoft ecosystem.
