Valve May Release Wireless VR Headset Before End of Year

New rumors have appeared online that Valve is preparing to release its own wireless VR headset. According to data miner Gabe Follower, the device may be released before the end of this year.

Presumably, the cost of the new product will be at the level of $1200. Along with the headset, buyers will receive several games and demos developed specifically for it. The device will run on SteamOS and will be able to run projects optimized for Steam Deck without connecting to a PC.

Despite the very high cost, analysts believe that Valve may sell the helmet at a loss in order to enter the market of stand-alone VR devices. The device codenamed Deckard was first discussed in 2022, when its technical images were leaked online. Now insiders believe that a full announcement may take place very soon.

At the same time, players have discovered new references to Half-Life 3 in the files of the latest Dota 2 update. According to insider Tyler McVicker, the development of the legendary threequel may be close to completion.
