The third part of Horizon may be released in 2027 – before it, the Guerilla studio will release a multiplayer project

According to unconfirmed information, Guerilla Games is actively working on a sequel to its successful Horizon franchise. Platform X user TCMFGames reported that the release of the third installment could take place in 2027. Moreover, the project may appear not only on PlayStation 5, but also on the upcoming PS6 console. The plot will center on the confrontation with Nemesis – a glitched artificial intelligence, which will act as the main opponent in the new chapter of the story.

Before fans get a continuation of the main story, the studio plans to release a multiplayer game in the Horizon universe. Early leaks point to a possible release of the spin-off in the first half of 2025, but an official announcement has not yet followed. It is assumed that the project has the subtitle Hunter’s Gathering and is a game-service with a cartoonish visual style reminiscent of Fortnite. Back in 2023, concept art and gameplay footage leaked online confirming the stylistic direction.

According to Bloomberg and columnist Jason Schreier, the multiplayer Horizon is Guerilla Games’ next big project, with a significant portion of the team working on it. He also confirmed that a full-fledged third installment of the main franchise is indeed in development, and that the Hunter’s Gathering project is one of the few service titles that Sony has decided to keep in its portfolio.
