The Last of Us Showrunner Responds to Criticism of Bella Ramsay’s Appearance

With the approach of the second season of the cult game adaptation, the debate over Bella Ramsay’s appearance has flared up again online. Some viewers believe that the actress does not look old enough to play Ellie from TLoU Part II.

Showrunner Craig Mazin explained that such reactions are due to the perception of the character in the game and individual characteristics of growing up. In his opinion, age-related changes manifest themselves differently in different people: some change dramatically, while others retain youthful features. At the same time, he noted that Ramsay has matured not only externally, but also emotionally, which is especially important for the development of her character.

Mazin is confident that in the sequel, viewers will pay attention to the transformation of the main character, contrary to skeptical expectations. Season 2 of The Last of Us will begin on April 13, with a total of seven episodes, covering only part of the events of the original game.
