Stronghold Crusader: Definitive Edition Devs Reveal Key Remaster Improvements

FireFly Studios has published a video detailing the upcoming remaster of the historical strategy. The developers confirmed that the game will receive improvements from the fan patch, and its creators will be noted in the credits.

Among the main innovations is full localization into Russian, including dubbing, and the cost will be $19.99. The remaster will also offer multiplayer support on Steam, automatic trading, team color customization, and compatibility with ultra-wide monitors. The maps will be expanded to 800×800, content from Crusader Extreme with 20 missions, an updated AIV editor for creating AI, and a classic multiplayer mode will be added.

The release is scheduled for July 15, 2025 on Steam, but the game will only be released digitally. The possibility of console versions is being considered, but for now the developers are focused on the PC version.

In addition to the remaster, FireFly is working on a new project in the series — Stronghold Unreal, which promises to be the largest in the studio’s history. Details about it will be revealed closer to the release.
