For the twentieth anniversary of the cult shooter Half-Life 2, a speedrunner nicknamed Jeepy came up with the idea of combining the Valve classic with another legendary game, Need for Speed: Most Wanted. The result was a unique race that not only amazed the gaming community, but also set an absolute record.

For the experiment, Jeepy used a special modification that introduced the Source engine physics from Half-Life and its sequel into the cult Most Wanted. Instead of the usual cars, Gordon Freeman himself acted as “transport”. With a crowbar in his hands and a rearview mirror attached to his forehead, he literally “flew” across the map thanks to unique physics.

Jeepy completed the first race in just 20 seconds, and the full race was faster than the current world record by as much as 90 minutes, which was completed in 4 hours and 50 minutes.

This unusual record became part of the celebrations on the occasion of the anniversary of Half-Life 2. The Valve company, celebrating the 20th anniversary of its masterpiece, gave away free copies of the game, released updates for modern systems and presented a documentary about its creation.
