Sleeping Dogs Movie Will See the Light of Day After All. Work Has Begun on a New Sleeping Dogs Film Adaptation Featuring a Marvel and Barbie Star

The production of the film based on the action movie has officially started. The main role in the film adaptation will be played by Simu Liu, known for the comic book movie “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” and the movie “Barbie”. He will also become one of the producers.

Negotiations between Square Enix and the actor were held at the end of January, and now it has become known that the Story Kitchen studio, responsible for the film adaptations of “Sonic”, has begun production. A screenwriter and director, who have not yet been named, have already been selected for the film. The start date of the filming process is also still unknown.

Interest in the film adaptation of the Hong Kong action movie has been expressed before. In 2017, Donnie Yen (“Ip Man”, “John Wick 4”) planned to play the main role in another version of the film adaptation, but in January of this year the project was officially canceled.
