Saber Interactive Relaunches Painkiller — Game Will Get Co-op and Elements of New-School Shooters
- AYG -Saber Interactive continues to actively expand its portfolio of projects. As part of the Future Games Show, the company, together with 3D Realms, presented a reboot of the cult shooter Painkiller. The development is being handled by Anshar Studios, and the project itself reimagines the original from People Can Fly.
Judging by the trailer, the gameplay is inspired not so much by the classic action as by modern FPS like DOOM Eternal. The main emphasis is on cooperative passage, which is quite logical, given Saber Interactive’s experience in creating multiplayer games such as World War Z and Evil Dead: The Game.

Players will be offered four characters with unique abilities that affect damage, health, strength and energy. Painkiller is scheduled for release in the fall of 2025 – the game will appear on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
