Rockstar Games Officially Postponed GTA 6 Release To Spring 2026

Rockstar Games has made an official statement about the postponement of the release date of Grand Theft Auto 6. Instead of the originally planned autumn release of 2025, the game will now be released on May 26, 2026. The developers explained this decision by the need for additional time to bring the project to a level that meets the expectations of fans.

The official statement from the studio contains an apology to fans for the increased waiting time. Rockstar emphasizes that the additional development time will allow us to create a product of the highest quality. The game continues to be developed exclusively for the next-generation consoles – Xbox Series X / S and PlayStation 5.

The company promised to share new information about the project in the near future. This postponement was the first official change in the release dates of the long-awaited sequel to the cult series, which has been in development for more than ten years.
