Retroid Announces Flip 2 Pocket Console in Two Versions with Different Processors
- AYG -Retroid has unveiled its new Pocket Flip 2 portable console, which will be available in two versions with different hardware.
The base model is equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 1100 and is priced at $189. The more powerful version has Snapdragon 865 and costs $219. The differences between them concern not only processors, but also Bluetooth support (5.1 versus 5.2 in the older model), as well as charging speed.
Both versions run Android 13, have 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of internal memory (expandable via microSD) and a 5.5″ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080p and a frequency of 60 Hz. For ease of control, the console is equipped with Hall effect sticks, analog triggers L2 / R2 and an active cooling system that prevents overheating during long games. Autonomy will be provided by a 5000 mAh battery, promising up to eight hours of operation.
Pre-orders will start on March 17, 2025. The version with Snapdragon 865 will begin shipping in mid-April, and the version with MediaTek Dimensity 1100 – closer to the end of March. Given the specifications, Pocket Flip 2 will be an excellent solution for both emulating old games and modern titles, and due to the presence of Wi-Fi 6 and OTA updates, the device will be relevant for a long time.
