Renault unveiled an electric car with in-wheel motors — the 5 Turbo 3E concept
- AYG -The French automaker has unveiled the 5 Turbo 3E concept electric sports car, inspired by the legendary rally hatchback of the 1980s. One of the key features of the new model is its in-wheel motors, a rare and innovative solution that significantly improves the car’s maneuverability and dynamics.

The electric car is equipped with two 200 kW motors (540 hp in total), thanks to which it accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, and its maximum speed reaches 270 km/h. The design includes a vertical handbrake, which adds unique drifting capabilities to the car.

The engineers equipped the 5 Turbo 3E with an 800 V charging system, which makes it possible to charge the battery from 15 to 80% in just 15 minutes using a 350-kilowatt charging station.

For now, the model remains a concept, but Renault is confident that the technologies implemented in it can revolutionize the idea of future electric vehicles.
