Ray Tracing in GTA 6 Confirmed by Developer: New Features of RAGE Engine
- AYG -Rockstar Games hasn’t released the second trailer for GTA 6 yet, but more and more details about the technologies behind the game are already becoming known. One of the sources was the lead developer of the Rockstar Advanced Game Engine (RAGE), who confirmed the implementation of a number of innovative features, including ray tracing.
The RAGE engine, which underlies most of the studio’s iconic projects (including GTA IV, Max Payne 3, GTA V, RDR and RDR 2), continues to be actively developed. The new version used for GTA 6 will implement cutting-edge technologies.
The developer, who updated his resume on LinkedIn, revealed that he participated in the integration of several features. Among them are ray tracing for more realistic lighting and reflections, global illumination based on ray tracing, which creates natural lighting of scenes, as well as procedural generation of objects and game environments, which contributes to the creation of a larger and more detailed world.
While Rockstar has not officially commented on the leak, the fact that the information was added during this period makes it clear that it is about the development of Grand Theft Auto 6.
