Postal 2 Redux Remake Announced With Complete Reimagining Of Cult Shooter

Running With Scissors continues to rethink its legacy — after the success of the updated version of the first Postal, it’s time for its no less scandalous sequel. Publisher Flat2VR Studios has officially announced work on Postal 2 Redux, which will not just be a remaster, but a full-fledged remake of the original provocative shooter from 2003.

Initially, the developers from Team Beef planned to create a VR version of Postal 2, but the outdated game code on the Unreal Engine 1.5 engine made this task impossible. Instead, it was decided to completely rework the project on Unity, preserving the spirit of the original, but significantly improving the technical component. The list of promised changes includes updated textures and lighting, reworked artificial intelligence, the elimination of loading screens between locations, and an expanded arsenal of weapons for the main character.

Postal 2 Redux will be released on all modern platforms, including PC, Linux, Mac, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One/Series and Nintendo Switch. The project will be financed through a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, which will start in the coming months. The exact release date has not yet been announced, but fans of the series can expect a radically updated, but still provocative version of the cult shooter.
