OpenAI Makes ChatGPT Search More Accessible, Taking on Search Giants

OpenAI has simplified access to its ChatGPT Search search engine by removing mandatory authorization. Now users can use the service without registration, which makes it more convenient and further fuels competition with Google, Bing, and Yandex.

Initially, access to the search was exclusive to subscribers, but in December 2023, it was provided to everyone, requiring only authorization. Now this barrier has been removed. ChatGPT Search provides answers in accordance with the latest information from the Internet along with sources.

The update also brought improved functionality: users can view maps, images, and short descriptions of results, bringing the service closer to familiar search engines.
