Nintendo Switch 2 Faces Stick Drift Issue Immediately After Release

Just a month after the release of the Nintendo Switch 2, early owners of the console have started complaining about analog stick drift, a familiar problem that plagued the previous generation of the device. Users on Reddit report that the controllers sometimes move on their own, without any input from the player, with some experiencing this immediately after unboxing the new console. While such cases are not widespread, they have already caused concern among the community, given the unfortunate experience with the original Switch.

Experts at iFixit, who examined the design of the Switch 2 Joy-Con, previously warned that they still use potentiometers that can cause drift, despite Nintendo’s promises to fix the issue. In addition, the new console’s repairability turned out to be lower than that of its predecessor, which makes it difficult to fix problems on your own. The company has not yet commented on the situation, but owners who have encountered a malfunction can count on a warranty replacement.
