New Mass Effect Remains in Pre-Production

Despite BioWare’s restructuring, the next Mass Effect has not yet entered full development. This was announced by project head Michael Gamble, who specified that the game is still in pre-production — key mechanics and levels are being created.

More than four years have passed since the announcement, but the main part of the studio was focused on Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Now the team has been optimized: some employees have been fired, leaving about a hundred people on the project. It is still unknown when development will accelerate.
