Netflix to Release Movie Based on Action Movie Sifu — John Wick Director to Take on Project

The streaming service has officially joined the production of a full-length film adaptation of the action film Sifu from Sloclap, which was first announced in 2022. Chad Stahelski, known for his work on the John Wick franchise, is also involved in the creation of the film, together with Story Kitchen.

Given the participation of Netflix, it can be assumed that the upcoming film will be exclusive to this streaming platform. The script for the project will be handled by TS Nowlin, known for the science fiction films The Maze Runner and Pacific Rim 2.

The game Sifu, released in 2022, invites players to try on the role of a martial arts master who goes to take revenge on the killers of his teacher. The key feature of the gameplay was the unique mechanical aging of the protagonist after each death. In the first three weeks after the release, sales of the game exceeded one million copies. Sifu is currently available on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
