Neil Druckmann hints that The Last of Us: Part III may not happen

After the release of The Last of Us: Part II, fans have been discussing a potential sequel. However, Neil Druckmann, the head of Naughty Dog, made it clear that the third installment may never come out.

In an interview with Variety, the developer avoided giving a direct answer, but hinted that he does not plan to turn the duology into a trilogy. However, he did not explain the reasons for this decision.

There were previously rumors that Naughty Dog was still working on a third part, but the studio denied them in December 2024, when it announced a new sci-fi action movie – Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

In addition, the multiplayer spin-off based on TLoU was also frozen. Thus, at the moment, there are no new projects planned in the universe of the cult series, and fans can only wait for the second season of the series, which will premiere on April 13. Also on April 3, the PC version of the sequel to the series will be released with a number of improvements.
