MediaTek Helio G200: Minimal Changes in Renamed Processor
- AYG -MediaTek has announced the Helio G200, a new 4G chipset for mobile devices that is a slightly upgraded version of previous models. In fact, this is the third redesign of the same platform: Helio G200 is a slightly improved Helio G100, which was also a renamed Helio G99.
The CPU specifications remain unchanged: 2 Cortex-A76 cores with a frequency of 2.2 GHz and 6 Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0 GHz. The Mali-G57 GPU received only a 10% increase in frequency – from 1 GHz to 1.1 GHz. The chipset has support for LPDDR4X memory (up to 4266 Mbps) and UFS 2.2 drives.

MediaTek claims a 35% advantage in AnTuTu, 40% in single-core and 20% in multi-core Geekbench tests compared to competitors, as well as a 75% increase in graphics performance. Key innovations include support for OmniVision DCG technology for improving the dynamic range of cameras and DCSAR for communication stability in areas of weak coverage. The first smartphones based on the Helio G200 are expected soon from Chinese manufacturers.
