It has become known who actually created Bitcoin

The probable creator was named in the documentary Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery from HBO, which was released on October 9.

According to the authors of the film, the pseudonym of Bitcoin developer Satoshi Nakamoto is hidden by the developer Peter Todd from Canada. In fact, he has been one of the most active participants in the project since 2010. In particular, Todd contributed to the technical improvement of the BTC network, the development of important solutions for modernization, and he also stood at the heart of the Replace-by-Fee concept, which increased the speed of cryptocurrency transactions.

Based on the above facts, the director of the film decided that Satoshi Nakatomo is Peter Todd. The latter has already issued a refutation. Many community members were skeptical about the opinion from the documentary: they said that the film does not provide any significant evidence.

Critics of the film also note that Peter Todd previously took part in the development of the VIACOIN cryptocurrency, which failed. They believe that the real Nakatomo could not have made such a mistake.

At one time, the pseudonym Satoshi Nakatomo was attributed to Nick Szabo, Hal Finney, Dorian Nakatomo, Craig Wright, and even Elon Musk. Before the release of the documentary, crypto enthusiasts even bet money on who would be named as the creator of Bitcoin in the film. The total amount of bets was $14 million, and cryptographer Len Sassaman received the most votes.
