Apple is preparing a major update to the iPadOS operating system, which, according to Bloomberg, will make tablets functionally closer to Mac computers. The source of information was once again the authoritative insider Mark Gurman.

As reported, the key areas of development of iPadOS 19 will be improved performance, expanded multitasking capabilities and a redesigned window management system. All this is aimed at making work on the iPad as close as possible to the experience of using macOS. This development has long been expected by tablet owners, especially those who use the devices for professional purposes.

In addition to iPadOS, Apple is also preparing major updates for iOS 19 and macOS 16. All three systems, according to sources, will receive design elements inspired by visionOS, the operating system of the Apple Vision Pro headset.

The public presentation of the new versions of the OS is scheduled for the WWDC 2025 developer conference, which starts on June 9. The release of the final versions is traditionally expected in the fall.
