IO Interactive deliberately featured a young James Bond in the debut trailer for 007 First Light

After many years of silence, the developers finally revealed the details of their spy action film 007 First Light, presenting to the public an unexpectedly young version of the legendary agent. Unlike the usual image of a mature Bond, the game’s protagonist will appear as a 26-year-old recruit, just starting his path in the world of intelligence.

As Jonathan Lacaille, the head of the franchise at the studio, explained, this decision will allow us to show the character’s formation, his first mistakes and victories, and will also make him closer and more understandable to a younger audience. According to Lacaille, First Light is not an adaptation of books or films, but a completely original story that gives the developers creative freedom to create a unique gaming experience.

The project promises to combine a fascinating plot with well-thought-out gameplay mechanics adapted to the needs of the game. The gameplay is scheduled for the summer, and the release of 007 First Light will take place in 2026.
