Insider: The Last of Us: Part III development is already in full swing

Despite Neil Druckmann’s recent statements that the post-apocalyptic action film’s third installment is not worth waiting for, reliable insider Daniel Richtman reports the opposite. According to him, the sequel is already in active development.

Richtman claims that the process has gone far enough: the studio has already chosen some of the actors and started recording scenes. Druckmann’s statements may be a ploy to keep the plans under wraps. Given the series’ success, it is unlikely that Sony will abandon its development.

Earlier, the same insider shared details of the concept of The Last of Us: Part III. According to him, the key characters will be scavengers surviving in an abandoned mansion. At the same time, Ellie will remain an important figure in the story. Druckmann has repeatedly emphasized that he will only take on a sequel if he has a strong idea.
