Insider: Atomic Heart 2 is in active development and will be darker than the original
- AYG -More than two years have passed since the release of Atomic Heart, and during this time the developers have focused on releasing add-ons. However, according to an insider, work on a full-fledged sequel is already in full swing.
Alexey Makarenkov, citing sources close to the developers, claims that Atomic Heart 2 is at a stage close to a vertical cut. This means that the main mechanics have already been implemented, the gameplay concept has been formed, and the project itself can be tested, but the content has not yet been completed.
The second part is being created on Unreal Engine 5, which will provide a noticeable graphical leap compared to the original. Especially noted is the improved detailing of textures and detailed vegetation. In addition, the game will be much darker, and its atmosphere is compared to Metro Exodus.

Although the official announcement has not yet taken place, the Mundfish studio has repeatedly hinted at plans for a sequel. According to the insider, the game could be presented this year or next year – possibly in the form of a cinematic trailer without an exact release date, as was the case with The Witcher IV or The Elder Scrolls VI.
