Half-Life 2 RTX Demo Released – Updated Version of the Legendary Shooter

Orbifold Studios has released a demo of Half-Life 2 RTX, a reworked version of the cult game with improved graphics. Players were able to test updated lighting and completely redesigned object models using two locations: Ravenholm and Nova Prospekt. At the same time, the gameplay itself remained unchanged.

The project is being created without the active participation of Valve. The development is being carried out by a third-party team with the support of NVIDIA using the RTX Remix tool. Despite the high level of expectations, the first reviews from players were mixed. Many note that the technical execution still leaves much to be desired, and the visual improvements do not always live up to expectations.

Nevertheless, the release of the demo version is an important step in creating a full-fledged RTX remaster of Half-Life 2, which can give the game a second life with modern graphics technologies.
