“GTA about a cop” will not be released in 2024 after all

Kwalee and Fallen Tree Games have announced the postponement of the crime action game The Precinct to 2025. Initially, the game was supposed to be released by the end of 2024, but the developers decided to extend the time for revision and elimination of technical problems.

As explained by Fallen Tree Games, the postponement is due to limited resources: only five people are working on the project. The developers admitted that this decision was not easy for them. According to them, even with the maximum efforts of the entire team of five people, it is impossible to release a game of the desired quality by the end of this year. The authors emphasized that the version that they could complete in 2024 does not meet their own standards and the expectations of the players.

The Precinct will take players to 1983, to the troubled city of Avernus. The main character, police officer Nick Cordell Jr., investigates the murder of his father and confronts local gangs.

The gameplay offers patrolling the streets and exciting pursuits of criminals. Players will be able to pursue violators on foot, by car or even by helicopter. This can be done alone or with reinforcements. The action is complemented by such elements as a day and night cycle, realistic weather and destructible environments, adding depth to the gameplay.

The Precinct will be released on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. While waiting for the release, you can try out a free demo on Steam, allowing you to evaluate the atmosphere and capabilities of the future action game.
