GTA 4 to Get PS5 and Xbox Series Port Without Improvements – Insider

According to reliable source Tez2, Rockstar Games is preparing a port of Grand Theft Auto 4 for the current generation of consoles. Unlike a full-fledged remaster, the release will be a direct port of the original 2008 version to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series platforms without significant changes.

The insider claims that the studio does not plan to make graphical improvements, add new features, or fix the game’s long-standing technical issues. This approach is similar to the recent release of Red Dead Redemption, which in 2024 received a simple port to modern systems without noticeable improvements.

The updated version of GTA 4 is expected to be released in 2025, which will allow players to replay the iconic title before the launch of GTA 6. Tez2, who previously reliably reported the return of GTA 4 and Max Payne 3, emphasizes that the project should be considered solely as a technical adaptation – the game will use the original engine and content without significant edits.
