GSC Game World in talks with Netflix to create a film adaptation of the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl

This was stated by the owner of the game studio Maxim Krippa.

According to Krippa, the project gained high popularity, taking third place in the list of the most popular games on Xbox in the last quarter. The development of the game required investments of tens of millions of dollars, and its sales exceeded 1 million copies in just a few days after the release.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl debuted on November 20, 2024 on PC and Xbox Series X / S. The game received 84% positive reviews on Steam and was nominated for The Steam Awards 2024 in the Game of the Year category.

It is not yet known at what stage the negotiations are and what the format of the film adaptation will be, but this could be an important step in expanding the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. universe beyond the video game industry.
