God of War spin-off about young Kratos postponed to 2026
- AYG -Sony’s plans for the God of War series have changed – a spin-off with a young Kratos, which will take place in Ancient Greece, will not be released until 2026. According to insider Jeff Grubb, the project was originally planned for release in 2025, but the deadline was shifted for unknown reasons.

The game, which has not yet received an official announcement, is positioned as a compact spin-off, and not a full-fledged continuation of the main series. Unlike the latest parts of the franchise with a 3D open world, this project will be made in the Metroidvania genre with a 2.5D perspective, which will be a return to the roots of the series. Fans of God of War will have to wait at least another year to see a new interpretation of the early years of the legendary Spartan.
