French brand unveils vinyl record player made from solid aluminum

Waiting for Ideas presented a premium vinyl player PP-1 with a body made of a single piece of aluminum. The device has an unusual design, a tangential tonearm and a built-in pickup with a diamond needle.

Unlike traditional models, the PP-1 does not have a radial tonearm. Instead, the pickup is built into the body, and the vinyl disc must be placed upside down. The elliptical diamond needle is hidden under an automatic cover that rises automatically when the player is turned on. The device supports two playback speeds – 33 and 45 rpm. A standard 3.5 mm jack is provided for connecting a headset, and power is supplied via a USB Type-C port.

Additionally, the brand offers a set of 80 W speakers, made in the form of two 35-centimeter cubes. The player itself measures 35 x 35 x 7 cm.

The PP-1 costs €5,800, and a set of speakers will cost another €3,200.
