The Fallout series, one of the most successful examples of a successful video game adaptation, is not only returning with a new season in December, but also, apparently, has a clearly defined plan for the long term. Although the exact premiere date of the second season has not yet been announced, interest in the project continues to grow – especially after Amazon officially confirmed the show’s renewal for a third season.

At the Comic Con in Liverpool, actor Aaron Moten, who plays the paladin of the Brotherhood of Steel Maximus, hinted at the scale of the story that Jonathan Nolan and the team of showrunners have been building from the very beginning. According to him, when they joined the project, both the starting point and the pre-written ending already existed. At the same time, according to Moten, the plot path of the characters is calculated for at least five, and possibly six seasons. This approach allows the writers to gradually develop the characters and lay down key elements of the finale from the very early episodes.

The long-term plans confirm that Fallout is intended to be a long-term story with a clear structure, something that is rare in the world of video game adaptations. It looks like viewers are in for a sprawling saga set in a post-apocalyptic America, with a pre-planned ending.
