EA to maintain current pricing policy despite market trends
- AYG -Unlike its competitors, Electronic Arts does not intend to increase the base price of its games, as confirmed by the company’s CEO Andrew Wilson. While Nintendo and Microsoft have already announced a transition to an $80 price tag for premium releases, including Mario Kart World and new Call of Duty titles, EA continues to adhere to a flexible pricing strategy.

Wilson emphasized that the company’s modern business model is significantly different from the practice of ten years ago, when the main revenue was generated through retail sales of physical copies. Today, EA offers a wide range of products – from free projects to Deluxe editions, which allows varying prices depending on the type and quality of content.
The head of the publishing house noted that the cost of games should adequately reflect their value to consumers. This approach, according to EA’s management, eliminates the need for a general price increase in the near future. Microsoft, which announced a price increase to $80 for some future releases, explained this decision by the need to adapt to changing market conditions.
