EA Closes Cliffhanger Studio, Cancels Black Panther Game
- AYG -Electronic Arts has decided to close Cliffhanger Games and stop developing an action project based on the Black Panther universe. EA Entertainment President Laura Miele explained this move by the need to focus on the most promising projects, promising to help laid-off employees find employment within the company.

Cliffhanger, a studio created in 2022 with the participation of former developers of Monolith Productions (known for the Middle-earth and Shadow of Mordor series), has not yet released a single project. This is already the second major closure at EA in the past year – in February 2025, the company disbanded Ridgeline Games.
According to unconfirmed reports, EA has also canceled the new Titanfall and carried out large-scale layoffs. These decisions reflect a strategic review of the publisher’s project portfolio in the context of a changing video game market.
