Cyberpunk 2077 has surpassed 30 million copies sold
- AYG -It took 4 years.
The story of Cyberpunk 2077 has become an example of how a high-profile failure can turn into one of the most successful gaming projects. After a difficult launch in 2020, the game managed to conquer the audience thanks to dozens of fixes and the Phantom Liberty add-on. And now it has celebrated an impressive achievement – over 30 million copies sold in four years after its release.
According to the latest financial report from CD Projekt RED, the Phantom Liberty DLC was also successful, selling 8 million copies. A sequel, known under the working title Project Orion, is already in development, with a team of 64 people working on it, including Pawel Sasko, the key screenwriter of the original game.
In addition to the gaming success, the Cyberpunk universe continues to expand. Netflix is preparing a new anime based on the game, and Cyberpunk 2077 and its DLC are planned to be released on Mac devices in 2025.
The company’s financial performance is also impressive: in recent months, revenue amounted to 228 million zlotys (approximately $55.4 million), and net profit reached 78 million zlotys (approximately $19 million). CD Projekt RED confidently continues to strengthen its position on the market.
