CD Projekt RED Adjusts Ciri’s Appearance in The Witcher 4’s Second Trailer
- AYG -After the release of the second trailer for The Witcher 4, fans of the series noticed changes in Ciri’s appearance, which caused a mixed reaction. Representatives of CD Projekt RED confirmed that they had indeed made minor changes to the heroine’s appearance, although they claim that there were no large-scale changes.

As the developers explained in a conversation with Kotaku, the character model remained the same – the same one that was demonstrated in 2024. However, to improve the animation, Ciri’s face, created using MetaHuman technology, underwent minor adjustments. The studio slightly raised her eyebrows and relaxed the area around the eyes to achieve more natural facial expressions.
Despite the apparent insignificance of these changes, even small edits to facial features can significantly affect the perception of the character. Although CD Projekt RED officially explains the changes as purely technical, many fans assume that the studio is responding to the wave of criticism that followed the first reveal of Ciri’s updated look. The final version of the heroine will likely become clear closer to the game’s release.
