Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is shutting down – the game will disappear from app stores

Despite the status of one of the most profitable gaming franchises, not all projects under the CoD brand live up to the publisher’s commercial expectations. Activision announced the end of support for Warzone Mobile, which will leave the Apple App Store and Google Play digital marketplaces on May 19. Gamers who downloaded the shooter earlier will not lose access to it, but new installations will be impossible. At the same time, the final decision on the operation of the servers has not yet been made – their shutdown has not been announced.

Along with the removal of the game, the developers will close the in-game store and disable cross-platform social functions. The funds spent by players on the purchase of in-game currency COD Points and other items will not be returned.

In an official statement, Activision representatives noted that, despite the successful adaptation of Warzone for mobile platforms, the title was unable to gain the expected popularity among the mobile audience compared to the PC and console versions.

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile was released on March 21, 2024, and featured cross-progression between different platforms. As an alternative, the company recommends that fans of the mobile shooter pay attention to Call of Duty: Mobile, which will continue to work.
