Apple Patents iPhone With ‘Infinite’ Display

Apple has received a patent for an iPhone completely covered with a screen. According to the published documents, the device is wrapped in a flexible screen that covers not only the front, but also the back panel, as well as the side edges.

The patent describes an adaptive operating system that adjusts to the position of the device in the hand. In addition, the technology allows you to control the device by squeezing the case – for example, adjust the volume or media playback. Apple is also considering the possibility of using 3D Touch-like zones on the side edges.

The document also mentions other concepts, such as a glass Mac Pro in the form of an octagonal prism and an almost completely transparent Apple Watch. Apple has been interested in such technologies for over 10 years – at one time, Jony Ive even wanted to create an all-glass iPhone.

It is currently unknown whether a commercial version of such a device will ever appear.
