Activision May Close CoD: Black Ops 7 Limited-Time Modes With Paid Battle Pass

According to the authoritative insider TheGhostOfHope, the developers are considering changes to the monetization system for temporary game events. In the new part of the series, time-limited modes may become available only after purchasing a paid battle pass, which will radically change the current practice.

In the existing CoD games, temporary event playlists are open to all players without exception, while rewards are distributed between free and paid categories. The proposed new system will make access to special modes premium content, leaving traditional multiplayer modes freely available.

This approach may cause a mixed reaction from the community, accustomed to the current model, where paid content was limited exclusively to cosmetic items and additional rewards. The changes will potentially affect Black Ops 7, which is being developed by Treyarch with the support of Activision.
