Activision acknowledges challenges in combating cheaters in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, promises increased measures
- AYG -Released on October 25, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 faced an expected but serious problem — an influx of cheaters. Despite the efforts of the developers, cheaters continue to inconvenience honest players, especially in ranked matches.
In the official Call of Duty blog, Activision acknowledged shortcomings in the fight against cheaters. According to them, after the release, the team focused on preparing the first season, which is why the supervision of matches was weakened. As a result, cheaters received more opportunities for abuse.
To fix the situation, the developers began to conduct regular mass bans and carefully monitor the leaderboards. The plans for the second and third seasons include a major update to the RICOCHET anti-cheat program, which should more effectively identify and block violators.
Currently, RICOCHET is already working in real time and bans cheaters every few hours, but this is clearly not enough. Activision has also increased its staff dedicated to reviewing controversial clips to speed up the process of banning suspicious accounts.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
