A keyboard in the style of the TV series Severance has been released – with a trackball and without the Escape key
- AYG -Atomic Keyboards has unveiled an exclusive mechanical keyboard, the MDR Dasher, inspired by the aesthetics of the now popular TV series Severance. The device is styled to resemble retro terminals from the fictional Lumon Industries, but is equipped with modern technologies.
Design and Features
The device is made in a 70% form factor (73 keys) with the Escape, Control, and Option keys intentionally removed, which refers to the plot of the show, where office workers cannot “escape” from their workplace.

On the right side is a trackball and a section of navigation keys, reminiscent of the computer interfaces of the 70s of the last century, which inspired the creators of Severance. Despite the vintage design, the MDR Dasher has USB-C support and is compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Price and availability
The official price has not yet been announced, but the company’s website shows a crossed-out price of $399, which gives reason to assume the final cost of the gadget.

As in the series, where employees work with monotonous interfaces, the design of the device emphasizes minimalism and functionality. The exact start date of sales and circulation are not disclosed, but the device has already caused a stir among fans of the show and collectors of retro technology.
